HOUSING
TRANSITIONAL
- Fully furnished one bedroom apartments available
for mothers with children under the age of 11 years
- Moderately structured living arrangements with a focus on strengthening recovery from drugs/alcohol and/or maintaining recovery from mental illness.
- Community areas in the houses with a play room for the children
- Child care available
- Twenty-four hour staff coverage
- Supportive services include drug/alcohol and mental health counseling, parenting and life skills groups
- Each resident works with her case manager to develop her individual service plan with achievable goals and objectives
- Weekly community meetings and participation in 12 step support groups is required
- Residency is for no more than two years with an average of six months dependent upon the consumer meeting her goals toward permanent housing, self sufficiency and recovery
- The case manager will facilitate the resident’s access to and
use of community resources
- A housing fee is assessed to each resident contingent upon
ability to pay and HUD guidelines
Eligibility to Transitional Housing...
- Homeless
- Alcohol/drug free and willing to work on recovery
- Female, pregnant and/or a parent of a child under the age of eleven
PERMANENT HOUSING
- Efficiencies, one and two bedroom apartments with some furnishings available
- Accessible to transportation, shopping and other city resources
- Low rent based on HUD guidelines
- Case management and other supportive services available
- Child care
- Drug/alcohol free environment
Eligibility to Permanent Housing...
- Homeless
- Coming from transitional housing or institution (other than jail)
- Drug/alcohol free or in recovery
- Mental health disability
- Willingness to work and maintain self-sufficiency
